The Emotions Aren’t Finite

Sympathy

I’m deeper than you think

my anguish is always on the brink

the emotions aren’t finite

my face isn’t multi-dimensional

But my opinion or behaviour is unconventional

I am not coarse

Yet happiness I don’t endorse

Living in melancholy

I try to handle the pain as manfully

I’m in a masquerade

Now even my dark soul is dead

Everyday I wear that stupid face

A smile I need to embrace

Why do I behave erratically

Why so enigmatically

Sympathy is not what I need

You don’t even know me, indeed

Contentment and I are divergent

Never meant to be.
